Community Design Startup

Back to school and on the final leg to graduation. 

As an introduction to my current studio, Community Design, which forces students to understand urban development projects we have been studying a series of precedents in groups. My group chose Herzog De Meuron's Rue Des Suisses. The project featured a unique site that required a development to be plugged in. Our conclusions reflected Herzog's attempt to create a sense of identity while reflecting the ideals of an individual. The drawing below represents an operable shading device on the buildings facade. It allows the individuals within the apartments to affect the overal appearance of the buildings face as it will change continuously.
